11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. When No One’s Watching: Trust and Ethics in an Opportunistic EnvironmentTy GagneBallroomThe transactional nature of the real estate industry requires a high level of trust and ethical behavior between parties. But it can also be competitive and opportunistic. When nobody’s watching, why shouldn’t we simply do what’s in our own self-interest? The question is explored during this presentation by New Hampshire author Ty Gagne, whose essay "Emotional Rescue" tells the story of Pam Bales and her heroic, life-saving actions during a 2010 hike on Mount Washington in winter conditions. The essay has since been made into the film "Infinite Storm," starring Naomi Watts, and its themes are particularly timely considering events in the real estate industry of the past year.
